issue #33

wk 33 · aug 10, 2026 · current

Star counts verified against the GitHub API at publication. The openclaw/openclaw description was corrected this issue — it was previously described as "the most-starred project on GitHub," which does not hold up on verification (it currently ranks 6th overall); the claim was dropped rather than replaced with an unverified substitute. The spotlight moved to NousResearch/hermes-agent, which shipped v0.20.0 ("Herald Release") this week — real-time streaming voice, an A2A v1.0 agent-to-agent protocol, and signed outbound webhooks. One Recommended-shelf link (cutlefish.substack.com, John Cutler's newsletter) returned a bot-challenge response on every fetch attempt this run rather than a normal 200, so it was dropped from this issue's live page pending re-verification — the URL itself is very likely still live, just unreachable by this job's fetcher today.

NousResearch/hermes-agent

Self-evolving AI — learns from tasks, writes its own skills, retains memory across sessions, runs on Telegram/Slack/CLI. This week's "Herald Release" (v0.20.0) adds real-time streaming voice with barge-in and on-device wake words, an A2A v1.0 agent-to-agent protocol, signed outbound webhooks, and grounded research with citations — ~3,650 commits since v0.19.0.

issue #32

wk 32 · aug 9, 2026 · current

Star counts verified against the GitHub API at publication. Several figures carried over from earlier issues were wrong and were corrected in this one. The Signal section below was also corrected same-day: the original version linked articles as old as March while labeling them "this week" — every item now carries a verified publish date within its stated window. The spotlight was re-pointed same-day from openclaw/openclaw (386k stars, but no this-week story) to different-ai/openwork, which shipped v0.18.18 this week; openclaw stays at the top of the repo list.

issue #16

wk 16 · apr 19, 2026

Recorded as published. Star counts are not retroactively corrected — several were wrong, and the corrections are noted in issue #32. Two links in this issue returned 404 when the archive was built and are marked below; they predate link verification.
